ICAS 5 Update Nr. 3: February 2007The Selection Committee of ICAS 5 met in Kuala Lumpur in January 2007 to evaluate the organized and institutional panels. The Committee is most pleased to report that in total 100 organized panels and 40 institutional panels have been accepted. This brings the total amount of panels to 300 panels including the previously grouped panels of individual submissions. Thus ICAS 5 has the potential to become the largest Asia Studies Event in the world. ICAS 5 Update Nr. 2: December 2006The Selection Committee of ICAS 5 met in Kuala Lumpur in November 2006 to evaluate the individual abstracts and almost all of them have been placed in panels. The wide variety of themes, disciplines and regions covered, as well as the participation from more than 50 countries and 400 institutes, promises an intellectually challenging Convention. A provisional list of panels and its participants is now online at www.icas5kl.com . This list will be updated frequently with the remainder of abstracts which have not been panelized so far.
