Bustan al-Salatin: a Malay Mirror for Rulers is text-orientated, based on the work of Bustan al-Salatin by a scholar from India, Nuruddin al-Raniri. This book portrays the ethical thinking of the Malay sultanates, concentrating on principles for the guidance for rulers in carrying out their duties. The book focusses on two major topics of discussion: universal history and adab writings (mirror) as two basic components which form Bustan al-Salatin. It also discusses the author of Bustan al-Salatin, Nuruddin al-Raniri.
